If you know me in real life or have been following my blog for a while then you probably know that I have a raging case of shiny object syndrome.

I’m writing a cookbook!

…No I’m not!

Im gonna start health coaching!

…Actually nah I’m not gonna do that either!

I’m great at big ideas, however I am shit at following through on them or making them a reality. I am 98 percent thinking and 2 percent doing on a good day. Grabbing life by the balls has never been one of my strengths.

So when I heard about the Slay Your Goals planner from Its All You Boo, I jumped at the opportunity to try and get my shit together with goal setting and planning.

Slay Your Goals Planner Review

I like to approach things slowly, breaking them down into mini-micro steps otherwise I start to think too big and fail. Tackline things in micro mini-steps has served me well in almost every aspect of my life.

The Slay Your Goals Planner is perfect in that sense, as it takes you through creating and setting your goals, then works backwards from there, helping you really work through what steps you need to take to actually acheive them!

Setting and Achieving Your Goals

The planner itself features guided questions, undated planning sheets, and motivational quotes to help inspire and keep you on task. It’s printable, so you can print off as many (or as few) pages as you need. It has guided prompts on goal setting and actionably tackling that pesky to-do list!

To start with, you set your intention- the overarching goal that encompasses what you truly want for your life. From there you establish goals that are broken up into mini goals and smaller, timely actionable steps.

Throughout this whole process there are worksheets that really help you to work through your goals mentally, and recognize their coherence and functionality as they feed into your intention.

To be honest I was thoroughly unprepared for how much this helped me to recognize that I am letting fear hold me back. I’ve always been aware of being a neurotic disaster of a person, but the fact that writing my big intention brought up all sorts of feels for me was a big surprise.

This is why I think there is immense value in writing your goals and intentions, pen to paper. It’s very easy to yak about your future with your head in the clouds, but when you get to making true and concrete statements of what you want for your future you are really engaging your psyche to be a part of that process.

Powerful stuff.

An Unintentional Business Plan

So you might not know this, but I truly am hoping to turn this hobby blog into a business. I want to share my knowledge and experience with you all, however blogging is a lot of work and it isn’t free. I would love to actually make some income from it and potentially jumpstart a career in writing.

I started off without a business plan because as I stated before, it was just so easy to have my head in the clouds and assume everything was going to work out. To be honest it hasn’t, and I feel like I have learned everything the hard way from doing most things in the most difficult and confusing way possible (story of my life).

When I saw how this planner was set up, I saw a golden opportunity to really sit down and hash through my blogging goals in order to create a coherent strategy and plan to keep me from running off on tangents.

If you’re a blogger, or know of a blogger who needs help in this area, I would highly recommend this planner to guide you in your goal setting process and to spark some inspiration in setting your intention and crafting the steps to make them happen. #learnfrommyfails

Thank you so much Tom! I have been blogging for 7 months and getting nowhere partly because I am my own worst enemy. Going through this planner has been really fun and helpful. I just need someone to direct me through life like “no no don’t go there, yep stay here, ok you’re getting off track again, stop that” lol
