Ever heard of 7 layer dip? I’m sure you have. This is pretty much a party/potluck staple, and for good reason. It’s simple, portable, easy to make and it is absolutely heavenly delicious.
Plus it makes eating tortilla chips seem kind of healthy. See what I did there?
The only thing it really has going against it is the whole “layer issue”. What determines a layer? Are all layers created equally? Does each ingredient determine its layer, or does a combination of such denote a layer of its own?
Feel free to bring this to your next Overthinkers Anonymous meeting.
Anyways, like most things, the quality of what you are creating depends on the quality of the ingredients that you’re using. Case in point- I have never been a huge fan of this dish but when I made this using the authentic Mexican lineup from my absolute favorite salsa company, Solecito Salsas, not only was I converted immediately, but I may have also lived off this for a few days while moving and too lazy to cook.
Solecito salsas are my favorite for a few reasons. The first is flavor (obviously).
I’m pretty crazy for spicy food, and I find that their “hot” salsas are spicy without overpowering the flavor. Another reason is that their salsas are smooth. I use salsa as a salad dressing, cooking ingredient and dipping sauce and I find that a smoother salsa is way more versatile for cooking purposes. The third reason is that their salsas are made of actual food- no junk ingredients or additives.
I also love that this is a local, family owned business that cares about things like community and environmental responsibility.
So, if you’re looking for a quick and easy, flavorful dish to make, grab some Solecito salsas and guacamole (THEY HAVE GUAC NOW ,GUYS!) and whip up this super yummy *Multi* layer dip!
PIN THIS SHIT!
